We are a group of Dartmouth students committed to promoting the use of alternative energies through education and example. On a school bus converted to run on used vegetable oil, we are traveling around the country fostering awareness about current global energy issues and creating dialogue about tangible solutions to those problems.
The BGB rolls down the Mississippi to the Big Easy to see what New Orleans looks like 12 months after Katrina raged through. After some sightseeing we join "Hands on Gulf Coast" in Biloxi, Mississippi to help do some relief work and prep homes for rebuilding.

The Big Green Bus starts on its journey back eastward traveling through the south west and up through the great plains. Visits to the Grand Canyon, Phoenix, Moab, Camp Ouray, and Boulder are sprinkled with attempts to remove tires, strange goats, bulls in heat, and a healthy dose of 100 degree temperature. Grab a glass of lemonade and a fan and enjoy.

The Big Green Bus continues on, this time driving through The Golden State. The bus did a lot in the Bay Area, visiting Cypress Semiconductors, meeting with Mayor Gavin Newsom, and visiting the kids at the Chrissy Field Center before heading south. The drive along Route 1 took through Monterey and Santa Barbara before finally reaching Los Angeles.
